Alexis Kidder is a 17 year old Philadelphia diver. She has always been fascinated by the ocean and dreamed of becoming a diver since she was 10 years old. In 2020 she became both an Open Water and Advanced Open Water Diver. She has goals to become a volunteer diver at an aquarium and become more involved with conservation organizations like ProjectAWARE in the future.
She has been described by those closest to her as having an insatiable curiosity when it comes to ocean life, being creative, being intensely self-motivated and having drive never ceases to amaze those who know her.
We are proud to have Alexis as our first ever recipient of the Miss Scubadelphia Advanced Training Grant in partnership with The Nicole Rhoads Foundation for Empowerment, Scubadelphia and the Gypsy Blood Dive Boat.
Darcy Quinata has island blood running through her veins it seemed only natural that she had an affinity for the ocean. She received her open water certification in October of 2019 and fell in love with the ocean even more! Her mission is to educate others on how to save, protect and safely enjoy the ocean while enjoying the amazing sport of scuba diving.
She has been described by those closest to her as being a bubbly and energetic force. She has shown the capability of becoming a fantastic dive master. She is a diver that others look forward to diving with, and her local dive shop is very proud of her.
We are proud to have Darcy as our second recipient of the Miss Scubadelphia Advanced Training Grant in partnership with The Nicole Rhoads Foundation for Empowerment, Scubadelphia and the Gypsy Blood Dive Boat.
